Chinese smartphone maker Oppo announced earlier today its new smartphone for India – the Oppo F7. We’ve been hearing about the Oppo F7 for quite some time now. The Oppo F7, like most of its predecessors, is a selfie-centric handset. The company, for some strange reason, refused to reveal the seconds of the phone’s rear camera. All we know “officially” at the moment is that the rear camera has an aperture of f / 2.0. Being a selfie-centric phone, the Oppo F7 has a 25-megapixel front shooter. The camera claims to support real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) sensor. The company also claims that images taken with the F7 will contain much more “information” – a higher range of detail, luminance and color levels when taken in direct sunlight or shade, similar to images taken with a good quality digital camera. The handset also makes extensive use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The phone comes with Oppo second generation AI Beauty 2.0 technology and is now more accurate with facial recognition. The phone also claims that it exhibits better beautification effects.

Oppo F7: operating system updates, software

The Oppo F7 runs Oppo’s own ColorOS 5.0, which itself is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. This means that the handset is already on the latest version of Android. The Color OS has an AI power manager that claims to allocate processing power accordingly to the right app, making sure the phone performs at its best. The phone claims to run 80% faster than its predecessor the F5 when multitasking while running multiple apps at the same time.

Oppo F7: Price in India, Color variants

The Oppo F7 is available in two versions: a standard version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space. This version comes in two color options – Solar Red and Moonlight Silver. This version was priced at Rs. 21,990 in India. The second option is the Diamond Black Special Edition which comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. This version will be slightly more expensive at Rs. 26,990 in India.
