The OnePlus 9 Pro is finally here. Carrying its Hasselblad branding on the rear camera module, a high-end Sony imaging sensor for its main camera, and a new free-form lens for its ultra-wide camera that has virtually eliminated distortion completely, the cameras of the Oneplus 9 Pro have been the subject of some hype.
We’re planning a handful of camera comparisons in which we’ll pit the OnePlus 9 Pro against the Pixels 5, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, and a few other devices, but today we just wanted to give you a first look at the images and videos captured by the new phone alone.
Overall the photos and video are quite impressive and the Hasselblad color adjustment of the imaging sensors seems like an improvement over what we’ve seen from OnePlus in the past. While OnePlus has talked a lot about the camera’s main sensor, we’re actually more impressed with the Sony IMX766 which is paired with a free-form lens and the dramatic reduction in image distortion for the device. ultra-wide photo. The improvement over last year’s ultra-wide camera is quite noticeable.
