The original story follows:
Last year, an update caused the death of the popular Poco X2 camera. After lots of negative feedback, Poco fixed the issue and assured users that their service center will fix the motherboard for free. After several months, it seems that the problem is happening again but this time on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 10 Pro.
Redmi Note 10 Pro users have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at the camera death after the new update. A day ago, Redmi Note 10 Pro users started receiving MIUI V220.127.116.11.RKFINXM update, however, after updating the device, things went downhill. Users report that they cannot use the camera app after the new update.

Twitter user Abhishek Yadav tweeted on January 15 that he was told by two Redmi Note 10 Pro users that their front camera was not working after MIUI 12.5.9 update.
That said, this isn’t the first time an MIUI update has caused a problem for Xiaomi/Poco users. As mentioned earlier, the Poco X2 camera started crashing after an update that caused a lot of noise. However, Poco had addressed the issue saying the problem was tiny and they would fix the motherboard for free.
If you encounter this problem, we will suggest that you restart your phone.
