A new 5G smartphone is expected soon from Reliance Jio. After a successful launch of its entry-level model, Jio Phone-Next, last year, the market expects an early launch of JioPhone 5G. Moreover, Jio’s highly anticipated 5G service is also expected soon.

According to market sources, the JioPhone 5G might come with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+, supported by 60Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the device is expected to be powered by a chipset Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480/5G. Other features are expandable storage of 32 GB and 4 GB of RAM.

The set will likely feature a dual-camera system with a 13-megapixel (MP) main camera and a 2-megapixel (MP) macro camera. Additionally, the device will feature a side fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication for security.

The new phone is rumored to run on Pragati OS, like the JioPhone Next, and may have both Google Play Services and a few Jio apps. The additional features such as streaming Google Assistant, read text aloud and quick translation enabled by Google Lens among others can be the additional features of the new smartphone.

Considering Jio’s aggressive pricing positioning strategy, the price of the new smartphone in India is expected to be below Rs 10,000. For example, the JioPhone Next was priced at retail at Rs 6,499 at the time of launch in 2021.
